A remarkable illustrated manuscript, commissioned by Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent and created by the talented court historian Arif Çelebi, showcases vibrant miniatures that bring this historic clash to life, highlighting its significance and artistry. Suleiman, one of the most powerful emperors this world has ever seen, fell into great depression after the death of his best friend Kamal Pasha, wife Hurrem Sultan and oldest son Mustafa, who was executed on the order of Suleiman himself after Mustafa plotted to kill his father for the throne. This was the last battle of Suleiman. He died in his tent in the middle of the night. Our piece is a scaled copy of one such highly celebrated miniature painting.
